Fall Secrets

There is magic at Casa del Rio Riverhouse
Where the river flows and the fall winds blow
Bringing the secrets they hold from long ago

The Indians were here in this very place
Leaving arrowheads and burnt rocks to be found by another race.

Their dugout canoes they used to fish and explore
Bringing home deer and fish for the food they dried and stored.

Caves in the hillsides provided shelter and protection
From enemy tribes and their destruction

The solitude here is soothing and peaceful
Giving renewed strength to all, and all are welcome

Love is in the air
It bounces everywhere
Enough for all to share

The Land of Magic and Excitement

Ghosts and Goblins will be coming soon
To Casa del Rio Riverhouse where there is plenty of room
To dance and frolic under the midnight moon
Awaiting the witches who fly in on their brooms.

Then enter the fairies to join in the fun
Exciting the children who have come
The fireflies are spreading their beautiful light
Making things look mysterious in their flight.

The reality is a land of peace and beauty
Where guests come to relax and feel a sense of security
So come one come all to this land of thrills
Where great fun is had in these majestic hills.

On The Lazy River

Summer is upon us and time for a swim in the clear cool waters of the Guadalupe River.  There are huge cypress trees shading the river in places, and a bridge from which one can fish for Guadalupe big mouth bass.

It is fun swinging in the rocking chair swings while watching the river go by singing its happy song.

The fireflies are out in abundance at night, and the stars are a spectacular sight.

There is peace and quiet in these hills with happy thoughts echoing through the mind

It is a lovely place, it is God’s place.

FALL AT CASA DEL RIO RIVERHOUSE

Fall is here, making October and November a refreshing time of year.  The cool breezes blow and the river flows, singing as it goes.  There is fun at Casa del Rio Riverhouse, fishing, hiking, and canoeing, embracing the peace that is present in the land once occupied by the Indians.

There is a sense of times past when in the quiet one reminisces of childhood and school, of family and friends, of life well lived.

There is a yearning for a place of solitude where dreams can be realized and where nature provides the cover of huge cypress trees and oaks.

There are very few people to disturb the peace and tranquility, making this a unique place in the valley.  Walking along the river, hearing sounds of rushing water gives pause for reflection of yesteryear.

Life in The Texas Hills

The Texas Hill Country is a beautiful place with rivers, canyons, limestone cliffs with huge Cypress trees along the river.

There is a sense of peace and a desire to explore the unknown up the hills and to the mountains covered with hardwood trees, undergrowth, and an abundance of wildlife.  It is exciting to see places rarely seen and to sense the stillness and quiet, feeling at one with nature.

This land once inhabited by Indians, then pioneers on the plains, and cowboys on the range, takes on a life of its own where stress is a stranger and relaxation is a habit.

The night sky is filled with stars and it’s beauty is overwhelming.

This is the country where I live, this is God’s Country

You can experience it too at Casa del Rio Riverhouse, on the river among the trees, and the hills, and feel the sense of newness of life, a new beginning.

Fall in the Hill Country

Fall at Casa del Rio Riverhouse
Is something to behold
The breeze blows through the trees,
Whistling as it goes.

The river flows its natural course
A bit higher than before,
No grass to water now,
Just fish galore.

Limestone cliffs surround this place
Where sheep and goats roam,
And axis deer and white tail
Are always at home.

Sunsets & starlit nights
Display beauty unparalleled,
Giving a sense of peace and calm,
Signaling all is well.

There is a stillness in this valley
A quiet calm overall,
A feeling of peace and serenity;
It is definitely fall.

A beautiful land in the Texas Hills

There is a place in Texas where the tall grass grows,
The mighty tree covered hills rise high with a river flowing below.
The deer are many, also wild turkeys, exotic animals and more,
With a cottage on the river with a beautiful landscape to explore.
The river with it’s rippling, soothing sound,
Adds a measure of contentment to all who are around.
A canoe trip up the river to a beautiful waterfall,
Is a very exciting experience for all.
The fishing is good, the swimming is fun,
Some of it done in the bright summer sun.
To have this experience there is a place in the hills,
Come to Casa del Rio for excitement, relaxation and thrills.
We treat our guests with dignity, the privacy they desire,
To play all day in this beautiful land until nightfall when they retire.

Winter 2016

Casa del Rio Riverhouse is special this time of year. The river is up, flowing clear cold water and singing its song rolling over rocks and stones to the delight of anyone listening.

The white tail and axis deer look fat and healthy when they come to the river for their daily drink. The great blue heron flies by occasionally on his way to catch fish in the deeper water. There is a kingfisher who does his fishing in the river just below the house.

Fly fishing is a favorite sport here, also mountain climbing and star gazing.

It is just awesome here in the land that God built with peace and beauty all around.
