Perfect Holiday Weekend

My family and I stayed at Casa Del Rio over Thanksgiving. It was the perfect place to spend the holiday. The setting was lovely. We hiked the woods and cliffs on the property, canoed, fished, had s'mores around the fireplace every night, and enjoyed the beautiful views of the Guadalupe. The cabin is within a short drive of a number of fun Hill Country destinations (Lost Maples, Fredericksburg, Medina, etc). I'd highly recommend Casa Del Rio. We hope to return soon!

our favorite place

Casa del Rio is truly a special place. When my family needs some get away time, we can relax here like no place else. I have also used it as a sanctuary to get work planning and writing done. With the beautiful Hill Country all around you, it is a great spot for renewal and mind-decluttering. Betty is the perfect innkeeper, so gracious and warm spirited. We come as often as we can, all the way from Georgia!

Fantastic

My family and I stayed here this past summer and we loved it. Buy the food you plan to cook or barbecue on your way in and get ready to relax and kick back. Our kids loved it and want to go back again. There is a rodeo right down the road and we really recommend you stop by. We hope to make Casa Del Rio a yearly trip.

Delightful!

Our stay at Casa del Rio provided some much needed peace and tranquility amidst the gorgeous trees and rushing water of the river. The swimming hole was like something out of Eden. We had a canoe ride and enjoyed the profound beauty of the place together. The rock cottage was most comfortable with a beautiful fireplace and nice outdoor area. As an added bonus, Betty is a true kind soul. We hope to return soon.

We had one of the nicest getaways ever. This beats the beach by far. Betty is so gracious. Every need was met. Our children lived in the river and we already have planned a return trip. The accommodations were perfect for us! Thank you, Betty!

We have been Casa Del Rio the past two summers and had a great time each time. You can relax and enjoy the scenery, fish, canoe, or just float on the river. I recommended the place to a coworker and they enjoyed their stay too and plan to come back. The house is nice and has everything you need and owner is always as nice as she can be.

Blissful

What a lovely and blissful setting. The Guadalupe burbling by, the Cyprus trees with their gnarly roots in the river, an historic cottage with all the amenities and amazing views. A nap in the afternoon on a chaise under the trees overlooking the river. Stars so bright you want to reach up and touch them. And Miss Betty, the most gracious host ever. Thank you for sharing your home. I had a wonderful time and I'll certainly be back any time I can.

Unbelievable Serenity!

This place is the perfect home away from home. The cottage and the land offer so much that there's nothing to add. I return year after year and receive the same open hospitality. The privacy and remoteness are wonderful, yet folks are nearby if you prefer to visit. This location is the perfect combination for a vacation getaway.

"Excellent family vacation"

We stayed at this wonderful cottage for 2 nights at the end of our family vacation. I wish now that we had booked here for our entire trip. The house was very clean and spacious and the view from the dining/living/kitchen area was beautiful. My girls loved playing in the river, and canoes and tubes were available for use. The owner is super hospitable and friendly. I can't wait to book another stay!

We just returned home from staying at Casa Del Rio. We had a wonderful time.
The house is so spacious and comfortable and the views are incredible. Our daughters loved swimming and playing in the river and my husband did some fishing and canoeing. (I just sat around and listened to the wildlife and water.) We are already planning a return visit this fall. Thanks so much for your hospitality.
